I remember before Daddy broke his hip he came in their house on Wisteria and he gave Mama and me a set of Mr. And Mrs. Turkey from Family Dollar.
Daddy was so excited to give the sets to us. He looked at me and said “I’m Mr. Turkey and your Mama is Mrs. Turkey. “ We all laughed and I must say he was quiet the Turkey.
Each year at Decor Shops I see these beautiful big colorful Turkeys. But not one decorative Turkey I see gives me the smile on my face when we gather around the table for our Thanksgiving and I see my set as the heart of the Table Setting.
Once my parents passed away we all make some of their favorite dishes. It feels like they are sitting right there. Andy does a great job on the Green Egg making a juicy smoked turkey. We make Mama’s scrumptious Chicken and Dressing. And of course Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Pie, and Apple Pie.
Thessalonians 5:18 says In Everything Give Thanks. I’m so thankful my parents showed me gratitude and thankfulness for all of God’s Blessings and Provisions.
